Kathy Schrock's Guide to Everything

This portal serves as a gateway to all of the technology resources from Kathy Schrock.  Kathy is a library media educator turned tech guru.  She is on the Board of Directors for ISTE and received the Discovery Education Network DEN Guru Award.  I used the QR reader on my iPod to subscribe to her newsletter.  Her most recent post is the Educational video of the month.

The banner says it all - ideas and tools for ed tech leaders.  The site offers tech forums from around the country, resources such as a site of the day, webinars, videos, magazine articles and access to all things tech in education.

MN Learning Loop

The Minnesota Learning Loop is a creation of TIES.  TIES is a software producer that "offers cutting-edge software applications, hardware and software, Internet services and professional development."  The Learning Loop is a database of nearly 10,000 lessons with appropriate standards.  Lessons can be filtered by Keyword, Grade and Content Area.  A search of technology and Language Arts Content Area results in 69 different resources.

Edmodo

Edmodo is a site that offers a Facebook-like setting for teachers to use that is completely secure.  Teachers set up accounts, grant access, and can even control how students post.  There are ideas in their blog on how to incorporate this tool in many exciting ways from book clubs, to assessment, to national and even global conversations.
